Every July 4th, thousands of local residents dressed in their red, white and blue fill the tree-lined streets of Audubon to watch the annual Independence Day parade. An Audubon tradition for decades, July 4th is a day citizens gather with neighbors, friends and family to honor past and present servicemen, celebrate our freedoms and cultivate community spirit.

This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses to advertise as well. The parade book is delivered to approximately 4.100 home and is read by over 7,500 people from the surrounding community. In addition, the CelebrateAudubon.com website will be the main information source for the parade and all related activities with limitless viewing possibilities.

The Audubon Education Foundation brings Joe Conklin to the stage on
Friday, October 22, 8pm at Audubon High School, 350 Edgewood Avenue,
Audubon.
 
This 610 WIP morning radio personality has been ringmaster of his own
menagerie of outrageous characters for more than twenty years. Known
for his spot-on impressions of  Barack Obama, Cole Hamels, Allen
Iverson, and Charles Barkley, among others, Conklin has  worked with
some of the nation’s most recognized performers including Bill Cosby,
Tim Allen, and Ray Romano.

Celebrating July 4th in Audubon

The Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks for 2010 will be held on Saturday, July 3rd.  

The parade will start at 8:30am at Amherst Road and Paris Avenue.
It will proceed down Amherst Road, turn left onto East Pine Street,
turn left onto Edgewood Avenue and end at the judges’ reviewing 
stand in front of the High School.

There is no rain date for the parade.  
It will take place rain or shine - except for severe weather.  
Rain date for the fireworks is Monday, July 5th.

Participants are requested to check-in 
with their Street Captain by 7:45am sharp!

Theme:  “A Grand Slam 4th of July!”

Registration:  
All participants for the Bike parade, Baby parade and Family Float and Decorated House 
competitions must be registered. The deadline is Friday, July 2nd. There will be no 
registration the morning of the parade.  Registration is at The Treehouse Coffee Shop, 
120 West Merchant during their normal business hours. 

Prizes:  
Prizes will be awarded for Family Floats, Bike parade and Baby parade.  The 
categories are:

• Best Overall • Fanciest • Most Patriotic • Best Theme

Prizes for the House Decorating competition are without category and awarded to the top three.

Judging:

Baby Parade - Children three and under are invited to participate. This year participants have the option to walk the entire parade route or enter the parade at Wyoming Avenue and Pine Street. Judging will take place immediately following the parade at the basketball courts beyond the judges’ reviewing stand. There will be participant ribbons for everyone.

Bike Parade - Helmets must be worn! All bikes will line-up on East Princeton Road. Participants will be judged immediately following the parade on the lawn in front of the high school past the judges’ reviewing stand. There will be participant ribbons for everyone.

Family Floats - Winners will be announced at the evening ceremonies.

Decorated House - Open to any house located within the Borough of Audubon. Winners will be announced at the evening ceremonies.

Due to rain, the car show was postponed to June 30th. See ya then.

There will be a car show on Merchant Street Wed., May 12th. So rev up those engines, and come on down to check it out. There will be live music, and sweet treats. A Fun night for everyone.

Town Wide Yard Sale

April 10th 8am - 2pm

If you need to get rid of all that stuff cluttering your home, or if your looking for clothes, furniture, flatware, bikes, toys, etc. Then this is the event for you. If you're selling, be sure to get a permit so that you end up on the map that will be distributed for the event. It is $10 for the permit, and you can pick one up at the Audubon Municipal Building, Nicholson Rd. or The Treehouse Coffee Shop, Merchant St. during their regular business hours. The Treehouse is open on nights and weekends if it's hard to get to the Municipal Building.

If it rains, this event will happen on April 17th, 8am-2pm.

Taste of Audubon!

On March 28th, a delicious aroma could be found emanating from the gym of Audubon High School. The Audubon Education Foundation kicked off its first ever fundraiser of this nature with a band of volunteers, representatives from local eateries, and a lot of hard work and planning. The event seemed to run flawlessly, and ended in a huge success. As I stood there soaking in the scents, and sipping on a fresh lemonade I couldn't help but chuckle at the signs around the gym reading "No Food or Drink." Glad to see they made and exception for this wonderful event. Way to go, guys!

Audubon Little League Celebrates 60 Year Anniversary!

Audubon Little League is still going strong after 60 years. Although a small town in Southern NJ, Audubon has had a strong presence in local baseball for many, many years. From the little tee-ballers to the mighty majors, all were present on March 27th for the festivities. A parade lead the 2010 teams to the ball fields to celebrate this amazing anniversary. What a colorful, exciting way to bring in a much needed spring.
